Since the train was so crowded on the way down on our pre-Christmas trip to NYC that the conductor never made it to us we ended up only getting our round trip tickets stamped once. We still had a one-way trip on each one that we had to use before Jan. 4th. It happened that Leslie was getting out of work early on the 2nd so we hopped the train in Milford after she was done. I really wanted to try some street photography and figured Chinatown would be the place to go so that was our plan for the day. The day was pretty uneventful, we wandered Chinatown and took in some sites – a Buddhist temple, the Manhattan Bridge and then drifted to Little Italy. We both looked for bags – Leslie for knock off purses and I just wanted a simple messenger bag for the camera when I’m walking around the city, neither of us had luck. We found a candy store where Leslie found a candy she grew up with and hasn’t seen since, I tried a durian fruit candy. I’ve heard a lot about it and personally I don’t know if I liked it or not, I ended up spitting it out in the end because the flavors were all over the place. We saw some trees actually starting to bloom and we basically relaxed for the day. There’s nothing really special about these, really just snapshots but enjoy them any way.
